Going low carb helped Dawne with her IBS
After being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, Dawne wasn’t sure what to do next. The NHS advice, consisting of eating a high carb diet, taking medications and trying to lose weight just wasn’t good enough. Luckily, her introduction to the Low Carb Program came soon after.
Though initially sceptical of the changes, once she started witnessing results the doubt soon vanished.
“My blood glucose levels and HbA1c are considerably lower and I’ve also dropped down to my goal weight. I have had terrible IBS for many years. Since I started low-carbing it has completely gone away”
Dawne learned to recognise when she was eating out of boredom and now drinks a glass of water if she experiences cravings. Her husband has even joined her on her low carb journey,
“Do not be afraid of fat. See this as the end goal not just as a goal to get the sugars down and the weight off. Make sure you know why it is you’re eating, if it’s just for the sake of it, then recognise this and try your best not to.”
