Rob Bentley lost 12kg (1st 12 lbs)

Rob Bentley hadn’t realised how much weight he’d gained until his doctor started advising him to lose weight.

“My BMI was above what it should be, I’d probably been overweight for about 10 years beforehand, but I wasn’t feeling sick.”

Rob’s interest in software development led him to discover Carl Franklin, a software developer who also co-presents the ‘2 Keto Dudes’ podcast.

“I’d started working in a different location for work, so I used to listen to the podcasts whilst I was driving, after that the evidence was overwhelming.”

Before, Rob’s doctor suggested that he made ‘lifestyle changes’ with the focus being on lowering his saturated fat intake. But trusting his own research, Rob took a ‘leap of faith’ and decided to lower his carbohydrate intake.

“At the start I weighed about 80kg (12st 8 lbs), now I’m 68kg (10st 9 lbs). My BMI has gone from 30 to 25. It’s also cleared up my asthma a lot too; there’s less inflammation. I also have more energy and I don’t get that sleepy feeling in the afternoons.

Do your research, fully commit to it. Become tuned into what you should and shouldn’t eat. Get yourself through the first few weeks and then it’ll become a lot easier.”
