When Tony Byles with diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in January 2016 his diabetic nurse recommended that looked on Diabetes.co.uk. It was from there that he discovered Louise and the Low Carb Program.

“Once the weight started coming off it was quite easy to follow. Weight loss was a big motivation tool and encouraged me to keep going.”

Through lowering his carb intake Tony has lost 12.7kg (2st) and has seen his HbA1c drop from 65 mmol/mol (8.1%) to 39 mmol/mol (5.7%).

“I’ve always been a fitness fanatic so that hasn’t changed. I’m nearly 79 and I cycle between 30-40 miles a week even after having a quadruple heart bypass in May 2017.”

“Just try and stick to it rigidly and maybe do a bit more exercise, but it’s not essential. I find doing small bouts of intense exercise to be more beneficial.”
